Down Arrow

CTO, London, Full-time

We are democratising smart bikes so that more people can experience awesome workouts from home. We do this by offering a high-quality bike that is premium but still great value, with affordable access to carefully curated online classes via our app.

We’re proud of what our tech can do – our iOS app integrates deeply with our bikes to show

progress in real time, while streaming live and on-demand workouts, made competitive and fun

through live leader boards and great UX.

Since launching in 2020,  we have grown at rapid pace and we are looking for a CTO who can

help scale our success and push the technical boundaries to deliver workout experiences like no

other. We have ambitious plans for the future, and a vision to create the ultimate platform for

home workouts and improve personal well-being.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition of our codebase from an external development agency to an in-house team. You will help us plan what we bring in-house, and when;

  • Build out our development team from scratch, helping us recruit brilliant individuals and create an outstanding culture within the team;

  • Take ownership of our technical architecture and strategy, making day-to-day decisions that align with our business objectives;

  • Drive the delivery of high-quality, well-maintained code and solutions that will scale;

  • Be the face of our technical team to the wider company and investors. You will have a key role in our Series A fundraise and beyond.

Skills required:

  • Proven experience building and leading a technical team;

  • Proven experience delivering complex, consumer facing products;

  • Strong technical expertise, particularly in mobile development. You have written your share of code and are comfortable getting hands on where needed (our iOS app is built using UIKit, SwiftUI and Combine, and we plan to add an Android app in the near future. Our backend API is built with NestJS).

  • Experience managing hardware integrations and embedded products. You will oversee future improvements to the technology inside our bike (which connects to the app via Bluetooth)

  • An entrepreneurial mindset. You are comfortable working in an early-stage company and adapt quickly to new opportunities and challenges

  • Nice to haves:

  • Experience leading a technical team through an investment due diligence process

  • A personal interest in products and services related to wellbeing and / or fitness.
